However, despite multiple efforts, many children still don’t get access to vaccination due to the inability of the parents to travel to the vaccination centres.Jivika Tai, Pratima met Sushma, a mother whose child has special needs, during one of her door-to-door awareness campaigns.
During her conversation with the mother, she discovered that disability becomes a significant barrier for them to access essential healthcare services. She cited that the family struggles to keep up with daily tasks, let alone remembering to vaccinate the child, which seems less urgent.Our Jivika Tai’s go the extra mile and overcome many challenges to ensure every underprivileged child is fully vaccinated. The vaccination camp was organized at the clinic near her home, phone calls were made to ensure that they do not forget and finally the mother and the child were available on the day for the vaccination.
