Mrs. Sarita Devi (40 years)
40 years old Mrs. Sarita Devi came with a complaint of multiple joint pain (which gets worse in the morning) during our medical camp at Satkhari village of Palkot block located in Gumla district of Jharkhand. Satkhari village is majorly inhabited by tribal communities. The village is located about 13 Km from the block headquarters at Palkot and 39 Km from the district headquarters at Gumla. After diagnosis, she was suspected of autoimmune arthritis as she had tender swollen joints and butterfly rashes over her face. She was referred to the higher center for a confirmed diagnosis and treatment of the ailment.
People residing in hard-to-reach locations are often deprived of quality healthcare facilities due to several reasons like distantly located healthcare facilities, lack of proper roads and transportation facilities and lack of health-seeking behaviour. Swasthya Sawari is addressing these challenges by taking quality healthcare facilities closer to villages through mobile medical units. We are immensely grateful to our partners for supporting us to make quality healthcare accessible to underprivileged and unreached people.
