Holistic Healthcare through Swasthya Sawari

Paro Devi at Swasthya Sawari Medical Camp

Mahlidih, like many rural areas in Jharkhand, faces challenges in healthcare access and awareness. The collaboration between Jivika Healthcare, the Government of Jharkhand, and CreditAccess India Foundation aims to bridge this gap by providing mobile healthcare services to underserved communities.
During a routine health camp organized by Swasthya Sawari, Paro Devi presented with joint pain as her primary complaint. The Medical Officer, through comprehensive screenings, discovered her elevated blood pressure levels, indicating hypertension (172/118 mmHg).She was already on medication for diabetes.

Residents, including Paro Devi, had limited awareness about hypertension, its symptoms, and the importance of regular health checkups. Paro Devi received counselling on lifestyle and diet modification for managing her diabetes and hypertension. She was then referred to Community Health Center, Gola for further consultation and treatment. Paro Devi’s case exemplifies the success of mobile healthcare units and collaborative efforts in addressing healthcare challenges in rural areas. By providing comprehensive services, integrating health camps, and promoting health education, initiatives contribute to improving the overall well-being of individuals in underserved communities. This case underscores the importance of holistic healthcare approaches for effective health outcomes in rural settings.
